Make it better

The power of the edit. I love this image. Starting with the subject, a custom control deck in a Peterbilt truck and then the editing to stitch four copies of the image together into one scene. I love the power and symmetry of it. I think about this as I read the rules for entry into a photography exhibit and competition taking place soon in Indianapolis. I might have read too fast, possibly misunderstood, but pretty sure they are saying that editing must not be done if the result of the edit can be perceived by the viewer. That rules out pretty much everything I do. It would certainly rule out this image which I think is a real shame because I think this is a winning image. I don’t think a photograph should deceive, but I think every picture right out of the camera is just a starting point for a better image after editing.
