A walk across the frozen lake
A winter’s day in Colorado. More specifically in Rocky Mountain National Park. I lived thirty miles from RMNP and for as long as I can remember, as soon as I was able to drive and have my own car, at 16, I would go up to the park as often as possible. With access like that and always carrying a camera the way I did you might think that I’d make a photo collection along the lines of what John Fielder did. Different lives, different desires. I’ve always loved photography. Making images. Going places just to be there to take a picture. Only a few people are motivated to ‘become a photographer’. For sure that did not apply to me. I am always happy to walk out on a frozen lake, by myself, in the dead of winter, take a picture of my footprints and call it a day. Picturelongmont gives me a creative outlet to do a little bit of art and that’s enough for me.
