They called it new urban at Prospect New Town development twenty years ago. I wonder how the neighborhood holds up in today’s modern world? Prospect was at the southern end of Longmont back then and not fully built out when I photographed it in January of 2003. I liked it for bringing something unique to the city but I also thought it was crowded, too tightly packed for me. I guess I’m not a new urbanist. I like this image. Houses look good in winter covered in snow. There are no cars and that also helps with my enjoyment of this scene. It’s a simple symmetrical image. Equal amounts of snow-covered ground and sky separated by an interesting and colorful looking building. Enjoy!
